ATTORNEY RICHARD IANELLO was born and raised in Springfield,
Massachusetts. Following graduation from law school he prepared for and took the Massachusetts Bar Exam in July of
1974. He was officially admitted to practice law in Massachusetts after being sworn in by the Supreme Judicial Court on
December 12, 1974.
Attorney Ianello spent his first ten years under the tutelage of several top civil and criminal lawyers and law firms in the areas of civil litigation and criminal defense. His training consisted of trial preparation, trial techniques, trial strategy, jury waived trials, and jury trials in the District and Superior Court departments of the trial court. Attorney Ianello has tried over 500 civil and criminal trials, both jury and jury waived, in the state and federal courts of Massachusetts and Connecticut. His innovative and aggressive trial techniques have helped his clients, from all walks of life, successfully pursue and defend their legal claims. In addition, Attorney Ianello has handled several appeals and has appeared before the Appeals Court and Supreme Judicial Courts of Massachusetts and has also handled appeals in the United States First Circuit Court of Appeals.
In 1985, Attorney Ianello opened his own office as a sole practitioner in Springfield. He represented blue-collar workers, union members, public employees, police and firemen, construction workers, doctors, executives, public officials and a host of others. He represented those injured in motor vehicle collisions, motorcycle collisions, workers compensation injuries, motor vehicle offenses, construction accidents (crane collapse) and injuries, medical and dental malpractice, nursing home negligence, gas and fire explosions (house and factory explosions), injuries caused by a defective product (snow blowers, power saws, yard equipment), injuries caused by the negligent use of a firearm, and injuries caused by negligent liquor establishments.
In 2004, Attorney Ianello established a new law in Massachusetts whereby an operator of a motor vehicle who "waves" or "signals" a pedestrian to "cross" into the path of another vehicle can be held liable for all resulting injuries and damages.
In 2005, Attorney Ianello expanded his practice and services in the areas of personal injury and criminal defense. He expanded his work load by hiring an associate attorney, Mark Brittain. He also doubled his office space and relocated to 55 State Street in Springfield, Massachusetts, directly across the street from the Hall of Justice. This move was made in part to provide convenient and free no hassle parking, directly behind the building for his clients. He has installed the latest technology in telephone and dictation equipment and computer hardware and case management software to efficiently deliver cost-effective and prompt legal services to his clients.
In 2010, Attorney Ianello and Attorney Brittain have collaborated in the formation of Ianello & Brittain P.C., a legal professional corporation wherein Attorney Brittain is now a principal in the firm.
Attorney Ianello is also the author of many legal brochures prepared for clients on a wide variety of legal subjects. These brochures provide an overview which is written in "plain English" for the purpose of educating people about the laws of interest or concern. Attorney Richard Ianello received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 1971 from Western New England College and graduated from Western New England College School of Law in 1974.

ATTORNEY MARK W. BRITTAIN was born and raised in Feeding Hills, Massachusetts. He received his
Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice in 1999 from Western New England College and graduated from Western New England College
School of Law in 2003. He was officially admitted to practice law in Massachusetts after being sworn in by the Supreme Judicial
Court in June of 2004. He was also admitted to the Massachusetts Federal Court on January 26, 2010.
Attorney Brittain was employed full-time by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts District Court Department of the Trial Court while attending law school and preparing for the bar exam. He was assigned to the Springfield Division and worked in both the Probation Department and the Clerk-Magistrate’s Office in the criminal division. He obtained valuable expertise and gained intimate knowledge of the inner workings of these essential court departments. During his tenure he developed close personal relationships with many judges, assistant clerk-magistrates, prosecutors, probation officers and respective office staff.
On May 2, 2005 Attorney Brittain joined Attorney Richard Ianello, a prominent Springfield attorney who has been helping people for over 35 years, as an associate. As Attorney Ianello has done for over 35 years, Attorney Brittain concentrates his efforts in the areas of criminal defense, personal injury, workers compensation and administrative law.
Attorney Brittain has handled many types of criminal cases including: drunk driving, drug offenses, suppression motions, domestic violence, restraining orders, automobile infractions, larceny, violations of probations, sealing criminal records and more.

JAMIE GIL received her
Associate’s Degree in Executive Secretarial Science in 1985 from Springfield Technical Community College. Upon graduation she
became Attorney Ianello’s legal assistant and office manager. Twenty years later Attorney Ianello expanded his practice to include
Attorney Mark Brittain, and Jamie handles all financial matters, as well.
In her capacity as a legal assistant in the personal injury and criminal defense departments at Ianello & Brittain P.C., she meets with the client and either Attorney Ianello or Attorney Brittain to obtain and record all pertinent biographical data. Depending on the case, a detailed check list with appropriate authorization forms and fee agreement are completed. All documents are organized and indexed for the physical file which is then used to gather and complete information required by Ianello & Brittain P.C.’s computerized case management system.
Jamie is also in charge of the financial records, particularly accounts receivable, accounts payable and the client trust account. She is responsible for obtaining settlement drafts, obtaining and preparing the appropriate documents for depositing settlement drafts to the client accounts, paying and compromising liens, issuing all checks, preparing settlement statements, scanning all pertinent and important documents into the client archived computer records, and returning all important documents to the client at the end of their case.

YEISHA
CARABALLO received her Associates Degree in Legal Office Administration in 2000 from Holyoke Community College. She has been a
legal assistant for Attorney Ianello since 1995, and is fluent in both English and Spanish.
Yeisha (pronounced Jay-sha) assists the attorneys and other legal assistants with preparing a plan, customized for each client, to produce maximum monetary results. This plan is constantly changed and refined to meet the client’s needs as the case develops.
Yeisha is responsible for assembling a file and preparing all necessary documents. Problems are dealt with immediately and any questions which cannot be answered by Yeisha are immediately referred to the managing attorney with a turnaround response to the client that same day. She stays involved in each client’s case from beginning to end. The client is informed of all developments as they occur and is a necessary cog in the preparation and settlement of the case.
Once suit is filed, Yeisha meets with the managing attorney and together a comprehensive trial plan is prepared. The trial plan includes all discovery requests and motions, finalization of all expert reports and documents, preparation of a pre-trial conference memorandum, indexing and finalizing trial exhibits, preparing jury questions, jury instructions and verdict slips and in general, making sure that all tasks are completed in accordance with the trial plan. It is essential that no stone be "left unturned" and she is in constant contact with the attorneys to ensure a successful result.
SUZANNE DYGON
received her Associates Degree in Legal Office Administration in 1999 from Springfield Technical Community College. She has been a
legal assistant for Attorney Ianello since 1999 and for Attorney Brittain since 2005. Sue is likely the person who will greet clients
upon entering the office. She will direct your call, book appointments, sends out reminders and directions to our office, and
generally manages the daily office operations.
Sue is responsible for assembling a file, preparing engagement letters, authorization forms and obtaining all other essential information. She is also responsible for drafting motions and discovery requests, as well as all trial documents including jury questions and jury instructions. She transcribes all dictation from the attorneys, as well.
Sue’s goal is to make everyone feel at home. She is courteous and thoughtful in her communications with clients, attorneys, legal assistants, experts and others.
